It’s that time of the month again, folks, where we delve into the personal projects and crowdfunded comics on the wonderful world of Kickstarter. This time around, I’m bring you four upcoming projects that I think look interesting that you should be checking out too. Enjoy!

YOU DIED: An Anthology on the Afterlife

Death is, truly, the one thing we all have in common. But that doesn't make it easy to talk about. None of us can agree on what happens after the end comes, or about how much we should think about it beforehand, or even what death should mean to the living. But who says there's anything wrong with that? Not us.

With 24 contributing artists and over 240 pages, this Iron Circus Comics anthology features a line-up of cartoonists, both new and notable, relating their favourite stories, myths, hopes, and suspicions about death, dying, and even The Great Beyond.

Movie Talk: No Country For Old Men

The Coen brothers really raised the bar on this one. No Country for Old Men immediately earned the title of recent classic upon its release in 2007. Today I want to really sink my teeth into this movie and talk about some of the themes and character motifs that truly make it one of the modern greats.
PictureThe main cast.

Cormac McCarthy penned the novel of the same name back in 2005, and the movie follows the same basic beats as the book does – although many scenes are expanded upon in the novel, of course. It’s a Neo-Western, and like all great westerns the plot follows a big bag of money and those who want it. We follow Llewellyn (Josh Brolin), are huntsman from rural Texas who while tracking a deer through the desert along the border with Mexico, he stumbles upon a drug deal that went majorly wrong.

Everglade Angels

When a girls’ softball team takes a shortcut through the Florida Everglades, they veer off the path towards a night they'll never forget – drinking, dancing – one last hurrah before college starts and they go their separate ways.

When they stumble into a trap set by a murderous cult, the stage is set for a night of blood-soaked carnage – but the cult has never dealt with victims who are ready to fight back, and while the girls might not have home field advantage, they have a game-changing surprise of their own.

Blake Northcott’s 48-page graphic novel is a double-header of murder and mystery that will crack you square in the skull ... it’s unfiltered survival horror like you've never seen before!

Seeing as Issue #3 of Mythopoeia’s Glow went live on Kickstarter last week, it seems appropriate to showcase a variety of the other talent that resides and beams for you all the see. These are the Kickstarter projects that I think have legs and just need that little extra to get to the creative team on the path they should be on. Enjoy!

Rise of the Goatman

A short but to the point isolated horror story about the arrival of a great, sinister evil.

It’s a cabin the woods story where a young family drive out to the desolate location, only for the daughter to find a diary owned by the previous owner – revealing its dark secret.

Rise of the Goatman is a short horror comic created by Joseph Oliveria from Afterlight Comics. The art is by Adrian Manuel Garcia and the cover art is penned to page by Francesco Iaquinta. It looks pretty cool, check it out.
